A woman whose dad was killed in a motorbike crash last year has run the Great Manchester Run in his honour.
Mum-of-one Sarah Daniels, 31, ran the 10k race in aid of the charity her dad John Daniels worked for.
John, from Stockport, was riding in France when he was knocked off his bike by a drink driver last September. He worked for young people’s charity Together Trust.
Sarah, who lives at Summerfields, trained hard around Wilmslow’s parks to raise as much as possible.
The freelance songwriter, whose daughter Tyla, 13, is a pupil at Wilmslow High School, said: “My dad dedicated 12 years to working with these young people.
“He was dedicated, well respected and loved by the children in his care.
“At his funeral one of the young people told me my dad taught him about the meaning of family and having love.
“My dad would often go above and beyond his call of duty.
“He was truly inspirational.”
The Together Trust is based in Cheadle and provides social care, special education and community support services.
Sarah, who will start a graduate diploma Law course at Manchester Metropolitan University in September, added: “I wanted to contribute towards the life changing work my dad did and keep his memory alive.”

Sarah completed the run in one hour and five minutes and has raised £180 so far.
Volunteers put up pictures of Sarah’s dad in a room at the Hilton hotel on the day of the run, as part of a display for the Together Trust.

“The breadth of people John Daniels influenced in his 14 years working with Together Trust was huge. From joining our charity as a relief worker he rose through the ranks to become an assistant manager in residential care homes operated by the Trust in Stockport. John was a fantastic role model to young people and staff. He was professional, patient and caring with everyone. We are very grateful to Sarah for raising much needed funds to help support our work for vulnerable young people in the area.” Jill Sheldrake, Director of Social Care at the Together Trust.
