Readers are running out of time to get their Unsung Heroes nominations in. We are looking to reward the borough’s top volunteers, who will have the chance of winning their share of £1,000 in prizes.
You have until next Friday – February 26 – to get those applications in.
Trafford Metro editor Paul Harrison said: "We have had a great response to our scheme so far.
"The applications have flooded in from across the borough and all the names we have been given would make very worthy winners.
"However, we would happily welcome more entries to ensure no one goes unrecognised.
"If you have someone you want to nominate, now is the time to do it."
Our scheme is a relaunch of a similar initiative set up by Stretford and Urmston MP Bev Hughes for her constituency last year. Ms Hughes is supporting the scheme as a judge this year, sitting on a panel with Paul, Trafford College principal Sir Bill Moorcroft and Lostock Community Partnership chairwoman Maureen Reilly.
They will be in charge of picking a shortlist before readers get to vote on their overall winner.
Nominees have the chance of winning part of a prize fund which has been donated by one of our awards partners, The Trafford Centre.
