Set to swoop?

READY to go? Chris Denham may be about to leave Stalybridge Celtic and join Droylsden.

DROYLSDEN chief Dave Pace hopes to have Burton Albion striker Robbie Talbot on board for Saturday's match against Harrogate Town.

The Bloods boss is also awaiting the results of Chris Denham's trip to a specialist before deciding whether to sign the Stalybridge Celtic front man who has suffered from a splintered shin bone.

He said: "The Talbot deal is more or less in place so I'm now looking at the squad and letting someone go by the end of the week.

"With Denham, I approached him and said we would go to a specialist and - provided it's repairable and within reason - we're prepared to look at it."

Curzon Ashton boss Gary Lowe was just pleased to play, never mind beat Trafford 2-1.

Numerous postponements have left Curzon inactive for most of the month as Lowe admitted Saturday's win had taken its toll.

He said: "It's been hard but you just get on with it - you can train so much but the lads just want to play.

"No matter how much you train, it's not a substitute for playing but hopefully we can get a run of a few games together now."

Mossley manager Jason Beckford was satisfied with a point from their trip to Eastwood Town.

Debutant Melford Knight had given the Lilywhites the lead before the hosts equalised from a set-piece - something which irritated Beckford.

He said: "It was probably a fair result but you're always disappointed when you're a goal up and end up losing that lead to a set-piece which I had spoken to the lads about at length before the game.

"It's one of those places where people will find it difficult and we may look back on it as a decent point at the end of the season."

Hyde United have announced travel plans for their FA Trophy last 32 match at Hereford United next month.

A supporters coach will leave Ewen Fields for Edgar Street at 10.45am, priced £10 all classes with no alcohol allowed. Bookings should be made to either Tony Beard or Mark Dring.

Admission prices for the game are: seats £13, concessions £11 or; standing, £11 and concessions £7.

On the field, Hyde saw their UniBond Challenge Cup quarter-final at Matlock Town called off because of a frozen pitch.
