GENERAL: The Advertiser has a new sports reporter from Monday, January 20.

Sports-mad Gavin Browne is set to join the newly-centralised Greater Manchester Weekly Newspapers (Southern) sports team which will be based at our offices in Stockport.

A former Oldham Advertiser news and sports reporter, Gavin takes over from Simon Smedley, who will now take over the sporting reins at the Macclesfield Express.
