The Manchester Alliance began its winter season at the same venue that it finished last season’s programme with Stamford Golf Club again their hosts.

Davenport pro Tony Stevens opened his Order of Merit account with the top individual pro score of 40 points.

Dukinfield’s Dave Green, who finished third, added to his winnings as he partnered club colleague Josh Lester to a winning 45 points on the amateur star’s 19th birthday in the pro am section.

Home pair James Woodcock and Tony Hales led in the am am section.

Stamford’s men played for the Captain’s Prize over two days and Andy Eralam’s two rounds of 69 saw him to a 138 total and top spot.

The Junior Captain’s Prize was won by Lancashire U15 champion Liam Loughlin, who shot 73 in both rounds for a winning 146 total.

The monthly medal at Ashton had the divisions taken by Mike Wood (65), David Pye (68), and Paul Tomlisson (66).

Ashton’s men played a betterball medal for the Commemorative Cup and Steve McGee and John Hilton ruled the roost with 62.

Anthony Hardcastle was the main man in a Wednesday medal at Denton, posting 65.

The first round of the Captain’s qualifier at Denton had course record holder Lee Merson setting a hot pace with his fine card of 68-1-67 finishing level with Peter Lamb.

A singles Stableford at Fairfield had the divisions taken by Kevin Burns (40 points) and Joe Cicchirillo (42).

The first round of the Autumn Cup at Fairfield had Robert Poownell setting a hot pace with a nett 61 in division one and Carl Ostheimer led in division two after a cpo on 66 with Alan England and Paul Scott.

A singles Stableford at Dukinfield was won by N Turner with 38 points.

Medal play for Dukky’s ladies saw Julie Wilshaw in charge with 78.
