Curzon Ashton boss Gary Lowe is hoping to draw a line under the club’s various points deductions as they bid to reach the UniBond Premier League.

Having already been docked three points for fielding an ineligible player earlier in the season, Curzon were hit with a 10-point penalty – half of which were suspended – in October for financial irregularities.

However, Curzon appealed the decision and last Friday brought news that six points would be deducted instead with three of those suspended – taking the punishment down from five points to three.

The new deduction will be applied by the league once the FA sends official written notification.

Lowe said: "What we have to do now is take stock of where we’re at, take a deep breath and move on.

"It means any chance of going for the league title has gone but we’re very confident we can get in the play-offs.

"We’ve got experience of the play-offs and stressful run-ins so that could stand us in good stead."
