Coleman’s mustard for in-form Dinting

LAST weekend’s action in the Peak Sports Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League saw Dinting continue their fine form against Tintwistle in division one.

Batting first, they were all out for 211 against their visitors who could only reply with 193, John Coleman taking 5-66 and Mike Parker 3-22.

A high-scoring game at Dove Holes saw the hosts compile 248-8 against Old Glossop, Jack Gregory with 69 and Dan Jones 63.

However, Lee Shufflebottom’s 55 and Jamie Cannon’s 46 saw the visitors to a four-wicket victory as they ended on 250-6.

Newton batted first at home to Hawk Green and were 190 all out, Gary Wilde with 50 as Hawk Green won by eight wickets thanks to Sam Messiah’s fluent 79.

In division two, Chapel maintained their good form as Adam Critchlow’s 62 helped them reach 206-9 against Broadbottom who were all out for 139 as James Hawton took 5-37 and Ashley Shepherd 4-37.

Hadfield totalled 205-4 against a visiting Hollingworth side who ended their reply on 167-8, Chouhan making 44 for the away side.

Charlesworth recorded a 41-run victory over Mellor as Wardle followed his unbeaten 42 in Charlesworth’s 209-8 with 6-38 as Mellor were all out for 168.

Mottram were all out for 180 as Whaley Bridge’s Steve Woolley followed up his 85 by taking 4-39 despite Stefan Fielding’s 87 for Mottram.

Division three saw Chapel all out for 137 chasing Birch Vale’s 154 all out during which Chapel’s Todd Candlin took 8-90.

Newton lost by four wickets at Hawk Green where the hosts made 189-6 after dismissing their visitors for 183.

James Wright’s 82 helped Old Glossop to 261-7 against Dove Holes before Craig Cooper’s 5-76 saw the visitors all out for 217 in reply, while Dinting compiled 158-7 at Tintwistle where the hosts were dismissed for 142.

As for division four, Broadbottom ended their reply on 158-9 chasing Hazel Grove’s 244-8.

Hollingworth were four-wicket wniners against visiting Hadfield after skittling them for 119, while Mottram were all out for 116 in reply to Whaley Bridge’s 133 all out.
