In a shotgun Greensome at Denton, Vernon Moore and Mark Whittaker were the top team with 36 points ahead of Nigel Roberts and John Chaisty, with John Mannion and Roy Tomlinson next in with 34.

Davenport assistant professional Graham Cox marked the return to his old club by winning the individual pro section with 42 points after posting 65.
It saw him close the gap in the professional Order of Merit on leader Dave Smith (Swinton Park) who was next in with 40 points, one more than Peter Barber (Didsbury)
However, he could not complete a double as, partnered by Anton Johnson, he lost a cpo for second place on 44 points to High Legh Park’s Ian Ridgeway and Lee Baguley, two points behind the winning pair of Dave Smith and Jimmy O’Reilly.
In the am am section the winners with 45 points were Chorlton’s John Davies partnered by Dave Berry.
