STALYBRIDGE youngster Kieran Lee earned praise from Oldham Athletic manager John Sheridan following his full league debut for the Latics on Boxing Day.
The 20-year-old former Manchester United reserve team skipper made his bow for Sheridan’s side in their 3-0 win at Crewe Alexandra.
Playing on the right-hand side of midfield, Lee came into the match more as it progressed, helping to set up the first of Lee Hughes’ second-half double before being replaced by Chris O’Grady with two minutes remaining.
Sheridan said: "I thought Kieran did excellently. He’s a very intelligent footballer and you can see the touch and awareness that he’s got.
"He’s played very well in the last couple of reserve games and I’ll be using him throughout the season."
