McManus makes move

Scott McManus

DEFENDER Scott McManus has followed in the footsteps of Richard Tait by leaving the Tameside Stadium and joining a Coca-Cola Football League One club.

McManus (pictured) has joined Crewe Alexandra for an undisclosed fee, emulating Tait who departed last season for promotion-winning Nottingham Forest.

The full-back had only joined Curzon during the close season, but did enough in that time to impress both the Railwaymen and Forest.

Having spoken to both clubs, McManus elected to make the move to Gresty Road, leaving Curzon boss Gary Lowe to conduct the early negotiations with Crewe assistant manager Neil Baker, while Curzon chief executive Harry Twamley concluded the deal on Monday.
