HEAVY rain put paid to the majority of games last weekend in the Peak Sports Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League with only a handful of games finished across all four divisions.
In division one, Hadfield went down by seven wickets against Hayfield after they were all out for 90 when batting first.
Rick Ball top-scored with 41 for the home side as Tom Jarvis and Dave Platt both took three wickets for Hayfield.
The visitors then made light work of their target, knocking off the runs with only three wickets down.
Hollingworth suffered a 10-wicket defeat against Hawk Green as they were skittled for 94 by their visitors, Mike Green recording figures of 5-30.
Sam Messih then struck a classy 53 not out to see his side across the finishing line without losing a wicket.
Newton were also beaten, going down by 74 runs at Birch Vale where the hosts batted first and compiled an imposing total of 255-6.
Andy Allcock ended with 3-63 for Newton, but Vale saw Tom McIlvenny hit 81 and Tom Isherwood 50 – 32 of which came from one over.
Phil Hammond made 41 in reply, but Vale debutant Alex Barwell took 4-27, claimed two catches and was involved in a run out as Newton were all out for 181.
There was no play in the scheduled games between Hazel Grove and Tintwistle, Dinting and Romiley or Old Glossop and Compstall.
Division two brought a five-wicket win for Chapel at Broadbottom as the hosts were all out for 168 batting first.
Gareth Rotors made 41, but Chapel’s John Theyer took 5-58 to help set up victory.
Mottram went down by six wickets as they were all out for 92 when batting first against High Lane, Chris Hanson with 6-52 and Alex Nadin taking 4-35.
Motley then struck an unbeaten 54 as High Lane secured victory with only four wickets down.
The only game to be played in division three brought a three-wicket win for Broadbottom against Hawk Green.
In division four, Tintwistle had a comfortable eight-wicket win after Rob Barrow’s 5-9 saw visiting Hazel Grove all out for 35.
Hadfield defeated High Lane by 67 runs, Squires taking 6-63 as they were all out for 97 chasing Hadfield’s 164 all out, during which Honaker hit 58.
Elsewhere, Charlesworth lost by 70 runs at Buxworth as Slater (5-26) and Bentley (3-27) saw them all out for 118 in reply to the home side’s innings of 188-6.
