Still work to do

Ashton United manager Danny Johnson says nobody at Hurst Cross will be getting carried away by their impressive start to the new Evo-Stik Premier Division campaign.

Monday’s 1-0 win against FC United of Manchester made it three victories and a draw for the Robins so far, putting them on top of the table with five goals scored and none conceded.

Bloods’ first defeat

This was all set to be the proverbial ‘smash and grab’ but two goals in added time to give the scoreline an even more flattering look.

Single goal is decisive

Ashton maintained their excellent start to the season with a hard fought victory over their near neighbours at Hurst Cross.

Cup replay for Curzon

Curzon Ashton failed to take advantage of their higher league status and were forced into an FA Cup relay as the Advertiser went to press on Tuesday evening.

Smith save secures stalemate

Ashton remained unbeaten after their first three matches, but may see it as two points lost, as they created the better chances and dominated much of the possession.
