Here is the latest weekly update on roadworks across the Tameside area ...

Twirl Hill Road/ Lily Lanes - Ashton
Temporary one-way closure due to major construction works. From 12 th August 2010 to March 2011.
Canal Street/ Craven Street – Droylsden
Temporary one-way restrictions. From 4th February 2010 for 18 months.
Hare Hill Road – Hyde
Temporary road closure from junction Hare Hill Walk for a distance of 25 metres in southerly direction, due to property development works. From 15th March 2010 for 18 months. Diversions in place.
Pudding Lane – Hyde
Temporary road closure from junction number 6 Pudding Lane for a distance of 100 metres westerly direction, due to property development works. From 15th March 2010 for 18 months. Diversions in place.
Stamford Street – Stalybridge
Temporary traffic lights. From 12th May 2010 for 16 weeks. Delays are expected.
Ash Road – Denton
Footway refurbishment.
Edge Lane – Droylsden
Temporary road closure due to Metrolink works. From 26th July 2010 for 5 weeks. Diversions in place.
Acre Street/ Irwin Street – Denton
Temporary road closure due to gas main renewal works. From 26th July 2010 for 5 weeks. Diversions in place.
Illingworth Avenue – Stalybridge
Temporary road closure from junctions Demesne Drive to Walker Lane, due to sewer upgrade works. From 26th July 2010 for 16 weeks. Diversions in place.
Cooper Street – Droylsden
Temporary road closure due to Metrolink works. From 28th July 2010 for 12 months. Diversions in place.
Kenilworth Grove – Audenshaw
Footway refurbishment.
Astley Street – Dukinfield
Carriageway resurfacing from King Street to Crescent Road.
Railway Street – Dukinfield
Footway refurbishment from Astley Street to Chapel Street.
Talbot Road – Hyde
Temporary traffic lights from 23rd August 2010 to 6th September 2010.
Mottram Road – Hyde
Temporary traffic lights at junction with Pudding Lane. From 11th August 2010 to 29th October 2010.
Globe Lane – Dukinfield
Temporary traffic lights at junction with Broadway. From 19th August 2010 to 26th August 2010.
Manchester Road – Mossley
Temporary traffic lights near Scout Mill. From 16th August 2010 to 3rd December 2010.
Droylsden Road – Audenshaw
Temporary traffic lights from 23rd August 2010 to 27th September 2010.
Woolley Lane – Longdendale
Temporary traffic lights at Woolley Bridge from 21st August 2010 to 11th September 2010. Lights will be manually controlled from 7am to 7pm.
Kershaw Lane/ Kingsley Grove – Audenshaw
Temporary road closure due to diversion works. From 23rd August 2010 for 6 weeks. Diversions in place.
Field Street – Hyde
Temporary road closure due to retaining wall works. From 12th August 2010 for 3 months. Diversions in place
Astley Street – Dukinfield
Temporary road closure due to carriageway resurfacing works. From 16th August 2010 for 2 weeks. Diversions in place.
Moorfield Avenue – Denton
Footway refurbishment from No.15 to Two Trees Lane.
Ronald Street – Droylsden
Temporary road closure from junctions Ashton New Road to Hamnett Street, due to Metrolink works. From 2nd September 2010 for 8 weeks. Diversions in place.

re-unadopted road mansfield street why do tameside council say not up to us to mantain your road its down to you to sort out sent several letters to the council about this issiue but they wont do any-thing about it the road is full of pot holes its a danger to people when they drive down mansfield street one day some will have bad accident suppose that will be are fault

I see all these traffic reports in built up areas like we all live in and was wandering when we are going to take on the road rule they have in some parts of the USA. I mean if you are wanting to turn right and the traffic lights are on red, providing it is clear to go, you may proceed your right turn Obviously this would be all left turns for here in the UK when traffic signals are on red. I am wondering this because I am sure it will help reduce the build up of traffic on our roads, we all know that when some traffic lights are down, the flow of traffic is much less congested. I am not saying we should all be able to go threw every red light to turn left. Where ever there is a pelican crossing on some set of cross traffic lights, signs should be there saying No Left Turn On Red Light. or any other set of lights that may cause accidents to pedestrians or motorist. But the majority of our traffic lights, I dont see why we can not be able to turn left when lights are showing Red.

I would loike to recieve the 2005/6 road works as pursueing a claim against united utillites, my soliceter requires prove that thay were Morgan utillites/united utillities are saying thay was not in the area at the time of my accident, & it would assit me in my pursuit of my claim, in anticepation of your kind cooperation Mr R Heap
