The votes have been counted and the top three boozers in the Tameside Advertiser Pub of the Year 2010 can now be revealed.
The Lazy Toad, the Ladysmith and the Hop Pole will now go under the scrutiny of our mystery drinkers to determine which hostelry lands the coveted top prize.
Thousands of you have cast your votes over the past six weeks and our competition has generated a real buzz across Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire.
Now the next stage of the competition is about to begin.
Our mystery drinkers will be judging the pubs over the course of this week and will award marks for factors such as range of products, welcome, link and the pub’s general appearance.
The marks will then be totted up and the winner announced in next week’s Tameside Advertiser.
And the fun doesn’t stop there for the top pub on our patch.
The winner will then be pitted against 16 other winners from our sister titles in a text vote to determine the overall winner of our competition, the Citylife Pub of the Year 2010.
Full details to follow in your Tameside Advertiser.

I'm working class and no snob but it ain't my idea of a relaxing and pleasurable night out. I seem to sup up many a first pint and walk out because of people who don't seem to know how to behave in public any more.

I would have though it would have to be a condition of entry that they have to be open for custom for a full 12 months prior to the competition !!!!
