Two men stole jewellery worth hundreds of pounds from a house. The offenders used a crow bar to smash the back door of a house on Tatton Street, Stalybridge at about 9:15pm on Thursday.
The owner of the house heard the noise and went downstairs to investigate.
When he got into his kitchen, he felt an arm grab him by the neck. Fortunately the victim managed to struggle free, ran upstairs and locked himself in the bathroom.
He went downstairs some time later assuming the thieves had left but was threatened by them.
The men took:
- Grey pearl and diamond bracket
- Grey pearl and diamond necklace
- Jade stone and silver heart pendant
- Jade and silver heart earrings
- Cream and gold sink jewellery pouch.
The main offender was around 27 years old, with a slim build and brown stubble on his face. He was wearing a dark hooded top.
Det Con Richard Stewart said: "These men have broken into a man's home and stolen his belongings. We, at Greater Manchester Police, will not accept this and are doing everything we can to catch them.
