A security guard was threatened with a shotgun during a bank raid in Ashton-under-Lyne.
Robbers stormed the Royal Bank of Scotland, on Stamford Street in broad daylight on Friday.
The pair, armed with a shotgun and crowbar, told a security guard they would shoot him if he did not hand over cash he was delivering. They fled with the money in a silver Saab estate which had been parked nearby and was later found abandoned on Church Street.
Both men were in dark clothing. The man carrying the shotgun is described as skinny, 5ft 8ins tall and wearing a balaclava. The incident happened at around 11.15am.
DC Martin Gregory said: "Stamford Street was busy at the time and I am confident that there are more witnesses we can speak to. We know where the car went afterwards but would like anyone who thinks they can help get in touch."
Anyone with any information should call police on 0161 856 9254 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
