SALE Sharks have made another key addition to their pack by swooping to capture highly-rated flanker David Seymour from Saracens.
The 24-year-old has signed a one-year contract with the Edgeley Park club with a further option.
Sale director of rugby Kingsley Jones, who was keen to bolster his options at flanker, has been tracking the highly-rated Seymour for a number of months and admitted he was delighted to have finally got his man, who had also been a target for Bath.
"David is a good signing for us, he has a high workrate and plenty of pace," said the Welshman. "He has come through the system at Saracens and when I found out he was available, I made my move to sign him."
Despite his young age, Seymour will bring a wealth of experience with him, having made more than 100 appearances for Sarries following his debut in 2004, having progressed through the London club's Academy system.
He also boasts appearances for both England's A and Under-21 sides and was part of the England side - alongside new Sale colleague Mathew Tait - who won a silver medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
Seymour had been touted as a potential England international two years ago but has seen his progress interrupted by a number of injuries.
However, there is no doubt he is another impressive piece of armoury in the Sharks' arsenal.
A combative player at the best of times, Seymour used to stand out all the more on the field because of his trademark flowing pony-tail. However, that was dispensed with last season.

As yo may not be aware, every Guinness Premiership team has the right to spend their £4 million slary cap - not give it to a football club who rent the ground that they play on. To be honest, I hope that county have a terrible season. I admit, if it wasn't for Sale, county may be in a better position but, hey, that's life!!!

It is very obvious that you don't understand the issue!!
Sale Sharks and Stockport County Football club are both owned by Cheshire Sports, the owner Brian Kennedy. Therfore any money that comes into Cheshire Sports SHOULD be for both clubs. Even though they may be run as seperate entities. I think the rugby club would have something to say if all the money went to the footbal club. Lets hope that they both go there own ways and if that means the football club struggling and having to move to a new ground then so be it. BUT Sale Sharks will NEVER be part of Stockport so the sooner they leave the better, if not a lot of people in the area will resent them.

Ever since Dragan Lukic left, and even during the glory years under Brendan Ellwood, County have struggled to attract investors. The fact that County are in this perilous state is the result of years of weak and mind numbingly rank bad management.
To blame Sale for the demise of SCFC is simply not correct. But I suppose that isn't what County fans want to hear is it ?.
Kennedy holds all the aces on this one, he is playing brinksmanship with Stockport Council and the Melrose consortioum. County fans might be pleasantly surprised if the result is that County and Sale benefit from a developed stadium and from sound management.
County have rumbled on and on along the bottom for so long, surely any improvement would be good. If SCFC was a company it would have ceased trading years ago, remember that !.
