The Hatters entertain Brentford at Edgeley Park on Saturday having seen their already slim League One survival hopes all but disappear after Tuesday's 1-0 defeat to Oldham Athletic.
The loss meant County have now failed to score in more than six hours of football since George Donnelly's winner against Wycombe Wanderers last month, but Ablett is confident the goals are coming.
"We're certainly getting in the position to score," said the County boss. "If we weren't doing that then that would be the worry.
"Against Oldham, Jabo Ibehre had a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, Johnny Mullins had a header and we've had another header cleared off the line.
"I don't think we could have done any more in the opening 20 minutes, and I think if we had scored one for those chances we would have gone on to win the game."
County will be without the suspended Danny Swailes for the Bees' visit after his red card against the Latics, and Ablett admitted the loss of the former MK Dons centre-half was a big blow.
"Danny has done really well for us since he came in," the Edgeley Park chief added.
"He's a big loss and it will be a difficult game tomorrow.
"We gave Brentford a decent game down there. It was mostly even steven and for 40 minutes of the second half we were better than them.
"We've got our pride to play for. There's always something to play for."
