The Hatters, are rooted to the foot of League One, face second-from-bottom Wycombe at Edgeley Park, and with the target of 50 points looking increasingly unlikely, nothing less than a win will do.
"I'll certainly bounce back, and Paul Gerrard and Hughie McAuley won't give up. We just hope we get a response from the players," said Ablett.
"We've got to go out and perform. There is quality in that changing room but we can't keep leaving it in there, we've got to show it on the pitch."
County's administrators meanwhile have insisted that Jim Melrose's bid to buy the club is still on the table, despite the consortium not yet reaching an agreement over the terms of the takeover.
Administrators Leonard Curtis also revealed that there are now other parties interested in buying the cash-strapped club.
"The Melrose Consortium are continuing to progress their interest," said a spokesman.
"We have received a number of other enquiries, however, and we are still actively seeking interest for the club in order to maximise the prospects of a sale."
