The Melrose Consortium is yet to agree the terms of the take-over with administrators Leonard Curtis, despite beginning negotiations back in July.
The delay prompted Leonard Curtis to issue a plea for other bidders last week, while manager Gary Ablett said he feared for the future of the club if the situation wasn't resolved soon.
But Sharks owner and Edgeley Park landlord Kennedy has now handed the Melrose Consortium his support, while promising to do all he can to make sure the club come out of administration as soon as possible.
"Last week Leonard Curtis and the Football League both issued statements regarding the status of the Melrose Consortium's offer to acquire County," said Kennedy.
"I am disappointed there has been a further delay in the process, but rest assured that everyone at Cheshire Sports, Sale Sharks and I will continue to give full support and assistance to both the administrator and the Melrose Consortium to achieve a sale of the club.
"We hope that any outstanding issues between the administrator and the Melrose Consortium can be resolved quickly allowing Stockport County to exit administration as soon as possible."
On Friday night, County fans marched outside Edgeley Park in protest at what they regard as Kennedy's involvement in County's off-field cash problems.
Around 30 supporters - who hold Kennedy responsible for County's current financial plight - marched outside Edgeley Park as Sale Sharks prepared to take on Leeds Carnegie in their Guinness Premiership clash.

The only thing currently at EP for them, apart from that temporary home, is the sitting tenant paying much of the bills. As soon as Sale get a new home EP will be sold for development and those previously useful tenants evicted. EP has, for all intents and purposes, been for sale since the day Cheshire Sports got their hands on it, just like Brendan Elwood put the "For Sale" signs up when he was frustrated in his bid to move SCFC to Maine Road.
But of course it's better to have businessmen in charge of your football club. That was sarcasm by the way, for the benefit of the trust bashers. The trust which by the way had many business people in it's ranks. The only difference was that, apart from the inevitable bad apple in the barrel, they had Stockport County in their hearts.
