COUNTY’S hot young prospect Tommy Rowe can’t wait to strut his stuff on some of League One’s biggest stages next season.
Rowe, who is still only 19, has been looking back on a thrilling 12 months since signing his first professional contract last summer, while he’s also looking to terrorise more opposition defences next term as the Hatters move up a level.
Talking to County TV just before the Hatters squad jetted off to Lake Garda last weekend, Rowe said: "It has been an amazing 12 months for me.
"This time last year I wasn’t even expecting to get into the first team. I was hoping to just develop some more and maybe train with the first team.
"However, this summer, I’m now hoping I’ll be able to play as many games as I can now we’re in League One."
Rowe went on: "It’s not going to be an easy second full season for me though, lots of people have been telling me that.
"Especially now that we are going into League One, there are going to be some really big tests waiting for me.
"I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to push on though.
"People know a bit more about me now, but if I can just keep playing as well as I did last season, then I’ll be happy.
"I was particularly pleased with my form towards the back end of last season.
"I’ve looked at our fixture list and there’s not really a bad side in League One.
"Playing Leeds and Leicester is going to be brilliant, but right now I’m really looking forward to every single game next season."
It’s been quite a hectic summer break for starlet Rowe.
He had just four weeks break since the never-to-be-forgotten heroics at Wembley, during which he went on a well-deserved holiday to Turkey and picked up a new sponsored car.
Pre-season training is now back in full swing though.
Rowe added: "The running has been a little difficult since we came back in for training, but overall it’s been really good. I’m looking forward to all the pre-season friendly games now."
