BRAMHALL extended their lead in division one to 30 points as they took maximum points when hosting Heaton Mersey.
Batting first, Heaton Mersey were all out for 138, Simon Wilkinson taking 5-45 as Syed Shahabuddin made 48.
In reply, Damien Stringer hit 52 and Andy Hall 46 as Bramhall won with seven wickets in hand despite Shahabuddin capping a fine all-round performance with figures of 3-47.
Irby regained second place by drawing against Cheadle Hulme at Grove Park.
Australian Dean Hayes hit the highest divisional score of the season with 156 in Irby’s score of 251, during which Ewan McCray took 5-86.
Hulme slumped to 11-3 in reply before Richard Battye’s 38 helped them recover to 196-8, Mark Newman taking 3-46 for Irby.
Urmston maintained their good form with a nine-wicket victory against visiting Cheadle.
Ashwin Punja ended with figures of 4-11 as Cheadle were dismissed for 146 – Rana Malook hitting an unbeaten 50 – before making 61 not out as Urmston reached 147-1 in reply.
Poynton went down by six wickets in a high-scoring game against Christleton.
Brian Kingham’s 112 not out had helped Poynton to declare on 234-6, only for Iroshan de Silva (126 not out) and Simon Ratcliffe (66) to take Christleton to victory with four wickets down.
Timperley were sent into the relegation zone following a 23-run defeat at Upton.
Matt Wilkie took 4-44 as the hosts were all out for 134, but despite hitting 36 in reply, Wilkie saw his side rolled over for 111 thanks to Ian Linwood (4-13) and James Williams (4-32).
In division two, Stockport Georgians moved into fourth place thanks to a seven-wicket success against their visitors from Oakmere.
Andy Splatt ended with 6-78 as Oakmere reached 185 all out before Mark Vincent (84 not out) led Georgians to 186-3 in reply, putting on 104 for the fourth wicket with Nick Tyers (42 not out).
Marple saw off defending champions Brooklands by 43 runs as Andy Greasley’s 4-26 saw the visitors all out for 161, chasing Marple’s 204-6 in which Gary Cash made an undefeated 91 and Dominic Michael 63.
There was also victory for Bredbury St Mark’s as they dismissed Burnage for 80, Chris Wood with 4-20, before replying with 81-3 as Paul Wood was left undefeated on 38.
