A 15-year-old boy has been arrested following a house fire in Cheadle.

Police and fire crews were called to Adshall Road on Friday, February 26, at 12.30am.

Extensive damage was caused to the house although the family were not in at the time.

The teenager was later arrested and taken to Stepping Hill Hospital where he remains for treatment. Police are continuing to investigate and no charges have been brought as yet.
