AN X FACTOR star will return to the stage when she hits the switch for Stockport's Christmas lights on Wednesday.
The nation witnessed Lucie Jones' shock departure from the show on Sunday when she lost out to twins John and Edward.
But the Welsh beauty will put the controversy behind her when she helps brighten up the town at the official festive lights switch on in Merseyway.
It will be a talent show-themed event this year as headliner Lucie will be joined by last year's X Factor rejects Daniel and Laura White, who will perform her single You Should Have Known.
Coronation Street's Michelle Keegan, better known as Tina, will make an appearance while County and Sale Sharks players will also be in the limelight.
Key 103's breakfast show presenters Mike Toolan and Chelsea Norris will host the event and the Plaza will give a taste of this year's panto Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
The show starts at 4.30pm and council-owned parking is free from 4pm.

What and ironic statement but ever so true!
A talent show headed by rejected talent show contestants!
There is one good thing that came out of Lucie being voted off, my wife and daughter now realise what utter unwashed garbage the X factor really is.
SC during the auditions told everybody he thought they had found the winner in Lucie. How the worm turns!

What is the point of having Judges if they just leave it to the public anyway? I would advise Danni and Sheryl to get off that show and distance themselves from the other two clowns on the judges panel.
Will not be watching this farce ever again but will be buying Lucie's first hit.
