HARLEY Slack's brave battle has captured the heart of people from across Britain and the rest of the world.

The story has featured in newspapers, on TV channels and radio stations around the globe since we first told his story last week.

Thousands of letters and emails have arrived in Stockport from the four corners of the Earth, including Japan, Singapore, the United States, Canada and St Lucia.

Hundreds of messages of hope and encouragement have also been left on our website and that of our sister paper, The Manchester Evening News.
