A BLAZE threatened to destroy dozens of wedding gowns at a Hazel Grove bridal shop at the weekend.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames at Cheshire Bridal Agency, on London Road, during the early hours of Saturday morning, and are still investigating possible causes.

The shop, which sells second hand designer wedding gowns, has considerable smoke damage but no structural damage.

However, many of the shop’s glistening gowns are now grey after they were damaged by the smoke.
