STOCKPORT County’s former boss is suing the club for £20,000.
Keith Agar, who quit as managing director last December, has instructed his solicitors to take the Trust to court for ‘outstanding monies’.
The disgruntled 60-year-old claims he was forced to leave after directors undermined his position, and insists the Trust has not made good on £8,000 they promised him in September as part of a relocation package.
He is also after £5,000 for paid holiday and a further £7,000 in car allowance.
Club officials however, have rubbished Mr Agar’s claims and say County does not owe him a living.
Mr Agar was given over £20,000 by the Trust in April, some of which he spent on a world tour.
"This is nothing I am not entitled to," he said. "And frankly I would have been happy to settle out of court. "But you get more and more annoyed and it becomes a matter of principle."
Mr Agar also criticised the Trust for ‘disregarding a contract they had entered into’.
The surprise resignation before last Christmas was, he claims, inevitable, after County directors Mark Maguire and Dan Levy organised a meeting with the owner of the club’s football ground, Brian Kennedy, without him.
MD Mark Maguire, however, has poured scorn on his former colleague’s claims.
"We are absolutely delighted that Mr Agar has made public his manoeuvring behind the scenes," he said. "Having been employed for a period of just a year it appears that he feels he is owed a living by us, this despite some regrettable management issues during his tenure.
"After his departure in January Mr Agar was paid a significant amount of money, his notice period in full," he insisted
"He has claimed £8,000 in relocation expenses despite never relocating," claimed Mr Maguire. "In addition he claims car expenses for a car and holiday pay which we dispute he is entitled to."
Mr Maguire added: "We will fight to defend Stockport County’s position, and are frankly appalled that Mr Agar continues to attempt to damage the club he claimed to love despite such a short relationship."

I am not attempting to damage the club i am just asking for what is legally my entitlement. The clubs Solicitor wrote and agreed payment of the relocation expence of £8k so how can Maguire make his silly statement .the solicitor would not agree without the club board approval.
Maguires comments regarding me making public my so called manoeuvring behind the scenes are laughable coming from the man who went behind my back and then claimed my job, thus taking a living out of the club , the one he was sacked from under Ellwoods leadership. Why should i try to manoeuver behind anyones back all i am doing is claiming my legal rights which they refuse to pay.
They appear to be afraid of the truth ?
Come on Mr Maguire lets air our views at a public forum, i am game and not afraid are you .

Having spoken to my Solicitor i would like to thank Mark Maguire for his personal attack because i may now take him to court and who knows i might get another tour of the world out of the proceedings.

What kind of retribution would you be seeking if you didn't "love" the club?

I appreciate your views but do you work for nothing. May i remind you that Tony Dinning is being paid by County and he is now playing for Chester City ?
County put the contract together and their Directors acted the way they did and are still telling lies so therefore they legally have to pay. I love Football in general and County are one of many teams that i hope win more games than they lose. It`s a big club run by little people with no money but a selfish attitude and a closed shop regarding allowing new members onto the Trust Board.
The people at the top are a joke and will be found out just wait and see Phil B.
Regards
Keith Agar

look. All us genuine and hard working people want to know is, out of your 20 + years in football ??
.. how many of them were you actually unemployed or even employed - it seems a very funny puzzle indeed.
or to put it even simpler for you... how many years have you worked and paid taxes
.. 3 years 4 years in the last 20 odd years ?
and also when did you work for all these clubs...
you must have been unemployed for many many , many years ????
dint you work for your home town club middlesbrough in 1980 and got kicked out after a few months

Don't misuse my comments with false and misleading inference that I am either Mark or Norman hiding behind a nom de plume.
I am a trust member and therefore an owner. I am a lifelong supporter or at least since 1963 when my late father took his nine year old son to his first game at Edgeley Park.
When I sing "The Anthem", I sing it from the heart and not from my wallet.
