More than 550 jobs are to be created by Sky at a new customer service centre in Stockport, the entertainment giant announced today.
Sky said the investment would enable the company to meet increased demand for its TV, broadband and home phone services.
It will open the centre in St Peter's Square at the end of June and will begin recruiting this month.
Roles on offer will include training, human resources and customer service roles.
The new Stockport site will be in addition to Sky's other sites which include operations in Leeds, Shepton Mallet, Dunfermline and Livingston.
Sky said it chose Stockport following extensive research across the UK into the availability of highly-skilled customer-focused employees.
Chris Stylianou, who runs Sky's customer centres, said: “We look forward to recruiting a great team here in Stockport and making a real contribution to the local community.”
