DIDSBURY Northern men's first team moved further away from the danger of relegation after drawing 3-3 at Leeds University.

Goals from Phil Taylor and Jonathan Curtis meant the scores were level at 2-2 at the break before Taylor's second-half penalty flick put Northern in front.

However, Leeds broke through one final time to equalise with an excellent, albeit fortuitous, goal into the top corner.

The seconds had a poor weekend, losing 5-2 against Bramhall on Saturday and 7-4 to Alderley Edge in Sunday's National Second XI Trophy encounter.

The thirds were 3-2 winners over Chorley Brookfields in their match, Graeme Hunt (two) and Miles Newton netting, while Simon Bunney's brace helped the fourths beat league leaders Urmston 4-3.

Northern's fifths were defeated by Urmston though, going down 3-2 against their struggling opponents.
