Sport of squash is family affair

EMMA and Leah Molyneux.

CHORLTON'S brother and sister double act of Ben and Emma Molyneux have raced through the national junior squash rankings since they were introduced to the sport six years ago.

However, they may face a familiar rival if nine-year-old sister Leah has her way after her introduction to the sport saw her make a big impression in the Lancashire Closed under-11s tournament.

Leah, who is also coached by her siblings' coach Nick Taylor, won five of her matches, beating boys along the way and suffered just two losses - both to boys - and looks to be well on the way to matching Emma and Ben in the not-too-distant future.

Seventeen-year-old Ben now enjoys a high ranking in his age group, while 15-year-old Emma is now in the national 'world class section' and receives funding for her development as she is highly ranked in the national under-17s and under-19s groups.

She recently met up with five-times world champion Sarah Fitzgerald who was so impressed by Emma that she has given her special tuition.
