BASKETBALL: Manchester Magic 91 Ware Rebels 66
Manchester Magic returned to winning ways and sent their fans home pleased - but not thrilled - with their 91-66 victory over Ware Rebels.
Throughout the game, the Rebels played a dull but fairly
effective style with most of their points coming from Matt
Clarkson.
Meanwhile, Magic had a wider range of options.
In the second quarter Magic's big hitters Steven Gayle and Antony Haase finally got into their stride, joined by the vastly-improved Samit Nurijev.
They were joined by newcomer Andrew Lovedale who came on for the first time and looked the part as Magic stormed into a 41-22 half-time lead.
The second period was dominated by Magic's youngsters as coach
Jeff Jones rested his more experienced players in preparation for
the forthcoming game against Worthing.
Callum Jones, John Shaw, Haris Charalambous and Jacob Molina all
performed well, and the third quarter ended with a ten-foot jump
shot by John Shaw which put the home side 60-35 ahead.
Magic dominated the final quarter and ended with a sweet two points for Andrew Lovedale.
