Broughton Park.................10
BROUGHTON Park found promotion rivals Wilmslow too hot to handle after taking the lead in a bright start when they opened the scoring with a try from Mosey coverted by Ronan O’Brien.
But the home team soon levelled with a try of their own and quickly added two more to take charge of the game.
O’Brien reduced the arrears with a penalty just before the break but after losing hooker Wilson and the influential Clifford to injury early in the second half there was only one team in it.
Park did apply some pressure at times but were easily held by the strong Wilmslow defence and they completed the scoring with a penalty for a comfortable win.
Park’s seconds enjoyed an exciting 25-20 derby win over Altrincham Kersal and their fourth team were also successful, beating Trafford MV 27-16.
Didsbury Toc H’s seconds were their only team in action and they won a thrilling match at Congleton by 12-10.
Burnage’s fourths were their only team to beat the freeze and they may have wished that they hadn’t as they went down 81-0 to Hope Valley’s firsts.
