A HEAVY overnight frost ruined the Lancashire and Cheshire League’s hopes of a full fixture programme.

In the Premier Division Moston Brook were held to a 3-3 draw by Abacus Media.

Abacus took the lead through Tom Fraser, only for Brook to go 3-1 ahead thanks to John Munson, Michael Cahill and Paul Vayro.

However, they were made to pay for missing chances as Andy Carr and Alex Lokhter gave them a point.

The only division one game saw Hollingworth OB escape the bottom two with a 2-1 win over Spurley Hey.

Division two saw Jordan Scholes (three), Bill McCartney (two) and Bradley Clegg give Milton FC a 6-4 win over Droylsden Ams.

In division B, there was a 2-1 success for Abacus Media’s seconds against Bridge Colts.

Hardly Athletic began 2009 as they had finished 2008, with a comfortable 5-0 win at Real Fallowfield in the MPSL thanks to Chris Hinchcliffe (two), Darren Chester, Damien Greaves and Gary Bickerton

Premier Division action saw Sale looking a safe bet to retain their title as they saw off Powerhouse Dynamos 2-0.

Chorlton Villa thrashed Greenend Vets 7-0, River Plate Reds were beaten 5-3 by Partington WMC, while International Manchester and Manchester Rovers drew 2-2.

Back in division one, Cheadle Hulme Albion and Arya notched four goals apiece, Inter Didsbury and Washway Celtic drew 1-1, Fallowfield United beat Urmston La Coruna 5-2, while Motown won 5-3 at Levenshulme.
