SWINTON Lions coach Paul Kidd is delighted to be teaming up with Les Holliday again – labelling him the ‘ideal right hand man’.

Lions loose forward legend Holliday has agreed to join Swinton’s coaching set up until the end of the season.

Kidd said: "Les’ work commitments have changed recently. We’ve been able to sign him up until the end of the season and we will assess things from there.

"I’m chuffed that Les has re-joined the club. I have worked with him before when he was the director of football so I know that he has a lot to offer and that we can work well together. He is the ideal right hand man."

Kidd has something else to smile about with Huddersfield looking certain to agree to extend three-quarter Richard Lopag’s loan deal for another month.

But Kidd admits that his mood will change if sixth-placed Swinton fail to win their home game with fifth-placed Hunslet Hawks this Sunday, June 28, kick-off 3pm.

He said: "Hunslet are going well and it is an absolutely huge game for us.

"It is about time that we got some consistency with our results. We have won our last two games and we are looking to keep that winning run going.

"We should have at least three players available on Sunday having recovered from injury in Dean Gorton (shoulder), Dave Hull (ankle) and Andy Saywell (back). Tommy Grundy (elbow) and Paul Southern (ankle) have an outside chance of being back too and Richard Lopag, who has been doing very well for us, will almost certainly play as we are very confident that Huddersfield will have agreed to a loan extension by then."

Meanwhile, Kidd has admitted that he is in talks with ‘an experienced hooker’ whom he hopes will cover for Alex McClurg’s long-term shoulder injury.
