IRLAM cemented their fourth successive Eccles Sunday Football League Premier Division title at the weekend with a 5-3 win against Clifton.
Weaste Hotel have been relegated after finishing rock bottom and the runners-up spot will go to either Clifton or Salford Celtic, who were level on points as the Advertiser went to press last night, Wednesday, May 14.
They were playing their final games of the season last night. Clifton were hosting Charlestown CYC while Salford Celtic were hosting Irlam.
The Carr and Hume final at Monton Amateurs’ Granary Lane ground between Chestnut Lodge and Irlam Railway was also being played last night.
Chestnut defeated Parkwyddn 5-1 in the semi-finals on Sunday while Railway thrashed Fox and Hounds 6-1.
Queensway will join first division champions GCJ United in the Premier Division next season after winning their final game promotion battle at Priory Unicorn 3-2.
Basement club Barton Town will be replaced in the first division by De La Salle Coruna next season.
Coruna confirmed their second division title success with three wins in 10 days, beating Astley 3-1, Buckley Arms 3-1 and Swinton Juniors 5-0.
The runners-up to Coruna were Weaste United while Astley went down after losing their relegation play-off with Foxes 4-0.
The third and fourth division champions were Chestnut Lodge and Clarendon respectively. Tophouse Rangers and Weaste United had to settle for second spot in the respective divisions while the clubs who finished rock bottom were King William Poets and Unicorn.
