THE Salford Advertiser has moved to a new location, but we’ll still be bringing you all your great news and sports coverage.

On Monday, July 13 the editorial team leave the Eccles office and move over to our new home in Deansgate.

The Salford Advertiser now shares the Manchester Evening News building at 1 Scott Place, Deansgate with MEN colleagues and reporters from other weekly newspapers in the area such as the Stockport Express, Tameside Advertiser and Rochdale Observer.

The new location is a stone’s throw from the Manchester-Salford border, the Irwell, and just 0.4 miles away from Salford Central train station.

The move means MEN Media’s weekly papers and the Manchester Evening News can make greater use of shared resources.

The Salford Advertiser and Prestwich Advertiser will be edited by Simon Keegan, with assistant editor Tony Howard, sport editor Dave Lawrenson, news editor Emma Gill and reporters Kathryn Ryan, Ailsa Cranna, Pamela Welsh and Sam Kirby.

The Advertiser promises to continue to deliver all the best news, sport and features across Salford.

We have our popular Lowry Little ‘Uns competition coming up in a few weeks as well as a special celebration issue commemorating 130 years of the Salford Advertiser

And next week - by popular demand - your favourite Advertiser crossword is returning!

Readers are encouraged to still call us with all their news and views as before. Our email addresses, websites and phone number will be the same.

And don’t worry you’ll still see your local reporter on their patch and we plan to host "reporter surgeries" where you can drop in and tell your story to a journalist.

The Advertiser values its readers and hope you continue to enjoy your paper every week as much as we enjoy producing it.

  • THE front counter at the Eccles office is still open for the time being. As many readers have kept old photographs behind the desk for safe-keeping, if anyone would like to collect pictures please call into the office and pick them up as soon as possible.
