AN ELDERLY woman has died after colliding with a car on the East Lancs Road in Swinton.

The incident happened shortly before 9.10am today (Tuesday). Police arrived at the scene to find a woman in her 70s had collided with a Chevrolet Matiz.

The woman was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
