A PROUD mum whose five-year-old daughter saved her life after she collapsed, has organised a special treat for her.
Earlier this year, the Advertiser reported how Lisa Cotton’s daughter Chloe, known as Coco, ran for help after seeing her mother on the floor of the living room in their house in Carr Road, Irlam in September.
And now the mum-of-two has organised a special treat to say thank you to Coco for her bravery.
Lisa, 28, who suffers from chronic endometriosis, took animal-mad Coco on a special husky ride as a reward for saving her life.
Lisa, who was born in Huddersfield but now lives in Irlam with partner Mark, collapsed on the floor when she was getting her children ready to go out, and brave Coco ran next door to her neighbour’s house to ask for help.
The neighbour then called an ambulance and, when the paramedics came, Coco was able to tell them about her mother’s medical history.
Lisa said: "I have suffered with severe abdominal pain since I had my son two years ago.
"Previously it had been undiagnosed and the doctors couldn’t work out what was wrong with me. But Coco knew that I wasn’t well and she knew that it was in my tummy so she was able to tell the doctors."
Lisa also nominated Coco for a Pride of Britain award. She said: "Like the rest of our animal mad family Coco is a big fan of huskies and malamutes and dog racing in general.
"I hit all the doggy forums I could think of to ask for help.
"I explained what Coco had done and was overwhelmed by the fast and numerous responses.
"We had a lady from as far away as Norway sending their best wishes and saying they would love to help.
"Then came the offer we had been waiting for - a lovely lady named Julie and her partner Harry from Glossop contacted me to say they would be making the trek from Glossop to take Coco and the rest of the family out scootering for the day."
Last weekend, three Alaskan Malamutes called Noobie, Moochie and Taz made the trip to Irlam and five-year-old Coco got to have a go on the scooter.
Lisa said: "Coco set off at speed looking a little nervous, but on her return she had the biggest grin I had ever seen.
"All except our son Leo, who is two, were able to have a turn and we all loved it.
"We have decided to make dog sledding/racing our new family sport and I hope to raise money for endometriosis at future rallies."
