THE Irlam Hornets’ rugby league players are to bare all at the club’s ladies night.

In a bid to raise money for the club, six of the team’s players have been rehearsing a dance routine and plan to go ‘full monty’ for the lucky ladies.

The lads have enlisted the help of former Red Hot Flame cheerleader Emma McCann, who has been putting them through their paces twice a week.

Emma said: "My boyfriend plays for the Hornets and I’m a dancer so they asked me to get involved.

"We’ve been training twice a week and the lads are working hard.

"They’re really good and I was actually quite surprised as they picked up all the moves quite quickly. They’ve showed up to every rehearsal and they can’t wait to actually get up there and do it."

On the night the lads will perform their ‘full monty’ dance routine and then be auctioned off to raise money for the club, who are still trying to secure a permanent home in Irlam.

The club currently play in Cadishead but are working on long-term plans to move closer to home, with a ground on Silver Street their favoured location.

They are currently working closely with Salford City Council to secure land at the top of Silver Street through the Hamilton Davies Trust.

Club manager John Conner said: "There’s no progress as of yet and in the mean time we’re just focused on running the club and keeping our three teams going.

"The full monty night is always good fun.

"We did one last year and it was a complete sell out, every one loved it, so hopefully we can get the same response this year."

Ladies night takes place at the Higher Irlam Social Club, in Cutnook Lane, on Saturday, October 25 from 7pm.
