A 22-YEAR-old woman has been charged with murder after the death of a man has died who was attacked in Salford last week.

Jayne Poole (born 03/04/1986) of Tooley House, Eccles is due to appear before Salford Magistrates Court today (Thursday).

Gary White, aged 33, of no fixed abode, died as a result of serious head injuries.

He was originally admitted to Hope Hospital on Thursday after an incident on Fir Street. It is believed Gary was assaulted outside a house at about 7.45pm that evening and then again on Elm Street.

Gary discharged himself from hospital on Saturday  but his condition worsened and he was admitted to Arrow Park Hospital on the Wirral the next day. He died from his injuries on Monday.
