Salford has come second in a nationwide booze ‘league of shame’. The city is just behind its neighbour Manchester in the top 10 places across the UK with severe drink problems.
And it is one of five of the 10 Greater Manchester authorities to be included in the list - Rochdale, Tameside and Oldham were the others.
