'Bribe' probe councillors Bob Bibby and Jim Taylor temporarily step down from Bury Conservative party

Two Tory councillors at the centre of corruption claims have temporarily stood down from the party.

Both Bob Bibby, 69, the former leader of Bury council, and Jim Taylor, 64, have resigned the whip.

Police were called to Todd Hall Road at around 10.30am. The female driver of the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police officer charged over death of 26-year-old waitress in Ramsbottom car crash

A police officer has been charged with causing a woman’s death by driving without due care and attention. Brendan Buggie, 38, a member of Greater Manchester Police’s Tactical Aid Unit, is also facing a drink-drive charge.
