Former Haslingden weaver, Mrs Anne Brown, of Pilling Street, Acre, died at home, on Saturday, January 28, aged 77.

Anne grew up in Baxenden and moved to Acre in her youth.

She was a weaver at Hazel Mill in Haslingden and  she later worked at Holland’s — although she retired through ill-health.

She was a member of the Mothers’ Union at St John’s Stonefold and always enjoyed a game of bingo. She leaves her husband Thomas, children Ian, Heather, Stephen and Leanne, in-laws Paul, Kate and Andy, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother Frank and sister Joan and their families. She was  also mother-in-law of the late Denise.

Her funeral is on Tuesday, February 7 when the Rev Joe Fielder will conduct a service followed by cremation at Accrington Crematorium at 3pm.
