Born and raised in Rossendale, Howard was a joiner for 10 years before becoming a delivery driver – a job he thoroughly enjoyed.
Unfortunately he had to leave work due to ill health but throughout his illness remained positive and uncomplaining – and got on with life as best he could.
His first loves were stock car racing and playing the guitar and he was very passionate about wildlife, but particularly birds of prey and owls.
This is reflected in the three owls which will be brought to his woodland funeral.
He leaves son Benjamin, mother Mary, auntie Norah, cousin Simon, Pam, Gabrielle and Guy and many friends and carers who will all miss him greatly and remember him with fondness. He was also cousin of the late Ken.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 7 at 1.30pm at Brocklands Woodland Burials in Settle, North Yorkshire, conducted by Rev Stansfield.
Family flowers only with donations if desired to the North Wales Bird Trust.
Funeral Directors: Jean Holt for Fred Hamer Funeral Service, Burnley.
