Retired slipper worker Mrs Alice Charlton, of Fallbarn Crescent, Rawtenstall, died on Friday, January 27, aged 86.

She worked at Greenbridge all her life and was married to her husband, Fred, for 66 years.

She enjoyed knitting, walking, dancing, spending time with her family, going to Kay Street Baptist Church for the shoppers’ lunch and Rawtenstall Conservative Club.

She leaves husband Fred, daughter Joan, son-in-law Gordon, granddaughter Paulene and her husband Richard, grandson Wayne and great-grandchildren Kasha, Mathew, Owen, Lewis and Connor as well as three nieces and one nephew.

A service will take place at the chapel of rest at 11am on Friday, February 3 followed by interment at Rawtenstall Cemetery.

Donations in her memory are  requested for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). Family flowers only.
