FORMER dinner lady at Haslingden High Mrs Jean Margaret Shurmer of Manchester Road, Haslingden, died at Fairfield Hospital, Bury, aged 65.

Mrs Shurmer lived in Haslingden all her life and also worked at Karrimor and as an escort for children’s taxis.

Wife of the late Thomas and mother of the late Stephen she leaves her daughters Jeanette and Angela, grandchildren Shannon, Kyle, Cody and Aiden, sister Gwen and late brother Richard, brother-in-law Allan and sons-in-law Stuart and Damian.

Her funeral was yesterday (Thursday) when Canon Roger Smith held a service at St James Parish Church followed by interment at Haslingden.
