TWO underwater hockey players with strong Rochdale connections have been chosen for Great Britain squads.

Mark Price, pictured, started with the Rochdale club as a junior 11 years ago. He now lives in Glasgow but returns to Rochdale to train on a regular basis.

He is in the GB Elite squad for the European Championships which will be held in Turkey from 26 April to 3 May.

Janet Robinson, who also started with the Rochdale team, after giving up swimming training with Aquabears, has been chosen for the Ladies’ Elite team and will be taking part in her fourth major championship.

THE Rochdale teams, both junior and senior, are looking for new recruits, and will be holding two open evenings, tonight and on 20 February, at Oulder Hill Pool from 8.15 to 9.30pm.
