THE draws have been made for this year’s British Parks Crown Green Bowls championships.
Central Lancashire and Pennines will play in Division One along with East Midlands, North Wales, Greater Manchester, North Derbyshire, Wallasey, North Staffordshire, and South Yorkshire, although those teams will be split into A and B sections.
Central fixtures will be:
Sunday 18 May v South Yorkshire.
Sunday 15 June v North Wales.
Sunday 20 July v North Derbyshire.
The section winners will play section runners-up on Sunday 17 August, and the final will be played on Sunday 21 September.
Two local teams have drawn home ties in the first round of the inter-county club knockout.
Hopwood Unionist Club will play Meersbrook (South Yorkshire), and Syke entertain Royal Sutton (Warwickshire).
These matches are due to be played on Sunday 14 September.
Greater Manchester will be away to Yorkshire 2 in the junior county knockout on Sunday 27 July. The junior county individual merit will be played in Yorkshire on Sunday 3 August. The senior merit will be played on a Central Lancashire green on Sunday 10 August, and the veterans’ merit will be played in the East Midlands on Monday 4 August.
