THE Lake Garage Central Lancashire League will not have a representative in the Cockspur Twenty20 knockout next summer.
The new competition will be like a champions of champions affair, with the Twenty20 kings from various leagues involved.
There will be regional contests leading to area contests and a national contest, with the televised final held in September.
The organisers need to know which clubs will represent which leagues by 2 June which would have meant the CLL champions of one year going into the knockout the following year.
After hearing there could have been fixture clashes with the CLL's contest, clubs voted 10-5 not to enter the Cockspur competition for 2009.
BEFORE the CLL’s ammual meeting started a minute’s silence was held in respect of those who had died in the past year.
They included Heywood groundsman Brian Fox, and former Werneth player and official Jim Hilton.
Alan Wright was unanimously re-elected as honorary secretary of the Central Lancashire League.
THE position of league vice-chairman, previously held by Neville Fletcher, has yet to be filled.
