Fire crews from Rochdale, Littleborough, Chadderton and Hyde were called to Blackstone Edge moors on Tuesday evening as fire raged through the grassland.

The emergency services were called just after 8pm on Tuesday March 16 with five crews tackling the blaze at its height using hose reels and beaters.

Around five square miles of the grass of the Littleborough moorland had to be cut back following the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
